Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 01, 2019 9:21 pm Hi All, I was hoping the great community here can shed some light. I've been trying to get some indications from my vendor but no luck. I've bought a townhouse OTP which was under construction in Mount Waverley. The corner land is about 650m2 with two townhouse. About 22-24sq each, double storey, 4-3-2. The land is split almost down the middle. The current stage is almost at Lock up (only the main door and garage door is missing). The following is done for both townhouses: - internal and ceiling plaster boards - Levelling of plaster boards and cut outs for electrical points - Door frames and architraves - Floorboards (not sanded or polished yet) - Kitchen cabinets (only benchtop and tapwares missing) - Cabinets in bathrooms and laundry - Skirting and cornice - Stairs - External downpipes The tiler is currently finishing up the wall tiles in the bathrooms. Things left to do (I think): - painting - Install electrical points, lights etc. - Install air-conditioning - Kitchen, toilet and laundry benchtop - Sand and polish floorboards - Install tapwares, range hood, oven etc. - Driveway and external landscaping I was initially told that the completion date is end of October. Is it realistic? From the progress, I think it can be done but will be a push. Anyone can give an idea how long is the council approval/registration process? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks. Re: Time to completion - townhouse (Monash) 2Oct 01, 2019 11:05 pm Hi Tigger, From personal experience it looks like 6 weeks out or so, it probably will be completed mid or end of November. There are so many variables with timing, hopefully they're a decent builder. Re: Time to completion - townhouse (Monash) 3Oct 18, 2019 8:29 pm Hey guys, an update. Since my last post beginning of this month, the following has been done: - first coat of paint - driveway - kitchen and laundry benchtop - decking - gas connection Things left to do: - final painting - electrical stuff - toilet wares - landscape - fence - sand and polish floorboards Hoping to move in before Xmas. Cheers Hi members, Hope everyone is sound and well. I was exploring Coral Homes and Monash 29 is the design very closer to what I want. So I am here to hear from you guys if… 0 900 Might still be an issue to approve window change if it is not a detached house. 5 1764 4 3159 ![]() |
