It’s like the general angst on this forum towards trades, oh they’re charging too much etc. Walk away. Try someone else. Yep you're 100% right nobody is holding a gun to our head. It is obvious to me now, we should be shopping around. This post was made because the entire process is completely foreign to me. Often for an owner occupier it is better value to sell the large block and be exempt from tax because it's your own home. As soon as it's 2 blocks you have to pay tax on one of them.
