Re: Building with MOMU @ Duncraig 23May 15, 2020 6:31 pm Hey guys, I'm happy to inform that my build is nearing completion. The builder would not be erecting the fence or do the landscaping, so I'm toying with some ideas. I've shared above 2 views, the first shows how the builder would finish, and the second shows my ideas for the front and the side fencing (its a corner lot).. Please comment on this idea, and also suggest if this can be improved. The reddish area outside the fencing is mulched. P.S.: I'm going to post a close-up of the yard with landscaping below. The roofed portion (where the furniture is placed) as well as the open portion would have artificial turf (in 2 different shades). The open area is at a higher level than the roofed portion. Also, there's a planter section for some natural plants between the two areas. Please see this photo along with the 2 views above and suggest any improvements. P.S.: The grey box type thing next to the window is a small bike-shed, that would be used to store the additional furniture for use when guests would visit. Using SweetHome3D for my designs.... We are about to build with Momu, could you please share some of their pre start prices? Re: Building with MOMU @ Duncraig 26May 16, 2020 9:12 am Morris45 Looks really awesome. We are about to build with Momu, could you please share some of their pre start prices? We didnt upgrade a lot with MoMu at prestart because we included a fair bit before hand. The ones from what I can remember. Coroma standard Cosmo basin to Caroma Carboni inset = $70ea Hafele pullout spice rack 2 tier = $375 Brushed steel door handles were about $3 ea Addittional exhaust fan and flue to outside = $215 Addittional cupboard to outside kitchen island = $250 Power points = $68, J box in lieu of batten holder $10. We also had charges for addittional tiling and laminate changes but that is a M2 cost. Some of the upgrade door prices were ridiculous so we left ours plain. we already had 28 course high doors throughout. Re: Building with MOMU @ Duncraig 27May 16, 2020 9:21 am So how have you found the build with MoMu, we hopefully are pouring our slab in a week or two. To be honest our experience has been good up to now but the hanging around waiting for something to start is frustrating. it seems like after all the boxes are ticked and everything signed you just hang there waiting, waiting, waiting. It doesnt help when you read in the Perth news that there supposidly a 30% downturn in the building industry. HELLO GET THEM AROUND TO MY PLACE THEN !!!!! I am looking at upgrading to full height tiling Getting 50 led lights And those fancy garage doors Those will be my major upgrades. Re: Building with MOMU @ Duncraig 30May 16, 2020 12:42 pm Wow couple of hundred dollars? I wanted to include it in my build before even pre start I was doing my en-suite and the main bathroom And my sale rep said 6k That was just too much so I took it out and will upgrade at pre start. I think my sale rep have been overestimating prices. It’s just so annoying. Re: Building with MOMU @ Duncraig 31May 16, 2020 12:51 pm Morris45 Wow couple of hundred dollars? We have walk in shower bay in our ensuite and that was to just take it from 2m just up to ceiling on 2 walls only not for whole ensuite. Re: Building with MOMU @ Duncraig 32May 16, 2020 12:56 pm Ooh ok. I want the whole en-suite but still I think 6k is over stretching it. Because I spoke with another rep from content and he said it would be about 3k for both bathroom and not 6k And content is supposed to be more expensive then Momu. We did get them to price whole ensuite tiling and correct it was 2.5k to do the lot. So reasonable I think. Re: Building with MOMU @ Duncraig 35May 16, 2020 1:28 pm Morris45 Thanks for your time. Just another question, did you upgrade to a better looking toilet? Also a bin drawer to kitchen and hamper drawer to laundry? I had back to wall toilets in my speck list from day 1 so they allowed for that right from start. As far as bin drawer goes I had 1 bank of drawers deleted with bottom drawer only to sit bins in, but a full size front and support (galley rail) to brace the front. with the deletion of the other drawers it was no charge. No add ins to laundry only taps moved to suit top loader at no charge. Ill pm you my number to give me a call if you like. Re: Building with MOMU @ Duncraig 37May 16, 2020 4:55 pm Morris45 Thanks for your time. Just another question, did you upgrade to a better looking toilet? Also a bin drawer to kitchen and hamper drawer to laundry? We are also building with Momu. The better looking toilet “CLARK ROUND BACK TO WALL SUITE” was an extra $420 each The bin drawer in kitchen “HAFELE ONE2FIVE BIN SYSTEM” was $690. From what I’ve found having been through prestart with other companies is that Momu Prestart prices are fair. The only thing that was expensive was changing the floor wastes to the smart tile insert ones which they wanted to charge close to $1000 for the 900m channel floor waste version and $100 for each square one. Other things you might want to consider upgrading is insulation. We paid an extra $2,264 to have 20mm foilboard insulation in-between external double brick walls and anticon roof blanket to the entire roof was around $3500. Is that expensive to upgrade? Like gloss finished cabinets? Wall hang vanity in bathroom? fully frameless showers? double glazed windows? integrated microwave? Wow, I would have thought you would cover off on those way before pre start, Momu will love you, you will come out of pre start with a 100k variation to contract. Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess.
