Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 30, 2019 4:26 pm Hi, we are building a new house and need suggestions for our floor plan. Mainly, the powder room, laundry, and WIP for Kitchen. We are concerned about the powder room door on the passage to have space for linen in the laundry. If linen space is removed, the door can be on the side but the laundry room space will be reduced. Any option to have WIP in the kitchen? Your comments will be highly appreciated. I agree you don’t have much linen/storage...like I said maybe bring the back wall of living in, take dining wall out (in-line) then add an additional WIL adjacent to laundry? With a reconfig....you could also possibly add a small WIP that sits adjacent to WIL? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Check our Homeone build blog here Re: Suggestions on our floor plan 5Aug 31, 2019 6:01 am Id move the garage forward to be inline with the master bed, and put laundry at the end of the garage, then extend WIR etc. Toilet could then have a window and linen goes where current WC is. Re: Suggestions on our floor plan 7Sep 03, 2019 3:37 pm What are you planning to do with that second living room? Is it actually a theatre? Are you sure you want a separate theatre in a 20sq house? If it was me, I'd get rid of the theatre. Then you could move your kitchen back, have a decent sized dining area, and have a WIP. You'd then also have room to move the bath and laundry forward, have a linen cupboard and a larger WIR for your master. Because you have a theater and a living room, id keep that living/dining area and move the kitchen to the back of the house like the above poster said, removing the meals area completely. Re: Suggestions on our floor plan 10Sep 03, 2019 5:43 pm The changes suggested above would give you more usable space in the areas you need it most. Also consider changing the window in the meals area to be a sliding door outside. Depending on furniture placement in the living / dining area, you may want to take another look at windows/sliding doors in this space too. You can then fit in a large Walk in Pantry. I would also swap the toilet and linen and put a cavity slider on the laundry (so the door doesn't take up extra room). i thought the flipped plan initially but bec i want narrow pathway from entry to dining (dont like bend), also cannot fit the… 7 17286 Hi, Seeking volume or semi-custom builder in victoria(east), which have existing double story wide floor plans.
