I'm looking at buying some land and have intentions to build our home on it.
The land doesn't come with a planning permit, but it is likely to be issued. Section 173 already in place. As is power, a septic and watertanks.
My issue is that to be eligible for FHOG and to be exempt from the stamp duty I need to have built and moved in by the end of the 12 months.
This places time and financial pressures on us - we were hoping to do the project over 2 years, not one.
But the savings made by not paying stamp-duty and the 20k FHOG to put towards our build is also kind of significant.
I want to be realistic. Who has gone through, purchase, permits, plans and build all in one year??
Thanks,
Anna
