Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 13, 2022 8:57 pm Hi All, I'm torn between these 4 facade concepts/colours. Any thoughts or opinions? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks heaps Ps: Please ignore my creative mock up skills Option 1 - Red Brick, Render and White Roller Door Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Option 2 - All Render with Timber Look Roller Door Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Option 3 - Cream Brick, Render and Timber Look Roller Door Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Option 4 - Red Brick, Render and Timber Look Roller Door Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Facade Help 2Feb 14, 2022 7:37 am I'd go for the fourth one. You can always render the brick down the line to change it up if you want. You might also consider staining the front door and boards above the portico to match the garage door and tie it all together. Re: Facade Help 4Feb 14, 2022 9:01 am Spazzen I'd go for the fourth one. Apparently the boards at the top of the portico are painted and not stained, or else I would totally stain everything the same. Thanks for replying Re: Facade Help 5Feb 14, 2022 9:22 am Noname cream bricks are fugly. 1 or 4 for sure Yeah I'm not a fan of cream bricks either lol, but I thought it was an option to get some more texture in the facade without being as bold as the red. Thanks for your input Re: Facade Help 6Feb 14, 2022 10:00 am also while i love the look of a light coloured roof (so many amazing displays), take a drive around some established areas and take note of what it looks like after a year or two. Its really unappealing and will add an extra job to do to keep the house looking nice. Dark matter scientist, can breathe underwater, mind reader and can freeze matter just by willing it. Trust me, its in my sig. Its really unappealing and will add an extra job to do to keep the house looking nice. There's also the significant benefit of a light roof vs a dark one in terms of solar absorbance. That's worth considering for summer comfort, especially given the planet is only getting warmer. We had a white roof when living in Melbourne and it was quite dirty, but over here in WA depending on location and what trees are around, they don't do too badly. We don't have any trees around us that drop anything significant, so it should be fine for the most part Re: Facade Help 10Feb 14, 2022 1:54 pm Probably option 4 as well. Retro red bricks goes well with concrete grey and colourbond black steel. If you want to keep the light roof, maybe look at a different colour garage door? Maybe something darker? If you want to keep the timber look garage door, maybe use a darker roof? Re: Facade Help 12Feb 15, 2022 11:20 am I like option 4 too and I also like the white roof. I agree with changing the garage door though. The white door washes things out and the timber door looks odd. A darker door to match your window frames might look good. Re: Facade Help 13Feb 15, 2022 5:08 pm I like 4 as well, it looks more balanced.
