Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Montgomery homes 2Jan 16, 2020 2:48 pm Hi Ian, I just saw your post.... We built with them in 2018 and would not recommend. I could write pages and pages of the issues we had which are still ongoing. One thing I would say when reading 'reviews' is that many builders have customers sign a contract restricting them from publicly posting about their experience. Builders will threaten legal action if you write a bad review, but they will happily leave the good reviews on site which completely skews the overall rating. I would go to new housing estates in your area, pick out the houses you like and actually go door knocking. Re: Building with Montgomery homes 3Apr 23, 2020 10:52 pm Hi Ian, We also built with them and had nothing but troubles. I have heard more bad reviews then good. Two years in with issue they would never rectify and a leaking roof that came through into our main living last storm. They tried blaming our Ariel guy and I fought it and so far have only got someone to fix the issue on the roof. While they were there the company they use for after handover issues they found short sheets so have had to replace them too. I had many troubles with them. They haven’t been bothered to email me to say they re fixing the issue from the inside yet. I have to constantly email them. They just aren’t good at a quality finish to just keep it short. I built with the, because of the brands they used and the good house layouts. Which I still happy with all of that. Tradesman and sit supervisor not so much. That’s where the issue lie as he hardly visited and checked the trades, quality isn’t the best. Not the worst but just not up to my standard. I found so many issues that I had to tell him about that he never noticed during the built.. Some of those got fixed as they had to, to keep the build flowing but it wasn’t without a fight with my site supervisor each time. Very draining and made it not that exciting to be building new home in the end. You will probably never read this Rochelle, but I have it on good authority from insiders that you were on of the most unreasonable, pig-headed clients that they ever built with - quite literally hated by the entire company; sales, admin, construction, maintenance for acting like a bloated oaf. People who have a project home budget (albeit, just in your case) and yet who expect a custom experience are the worst. Also, were you not bailed out of your financial failures on the land purchase by the builder? Re: Building with Montgomery homes 5May 30, 2022 8:38 pm Wow! Would love to get more details on your supposed good authority. Are you saying that an employee (either current or ex) is discussing client details with you (a complete stranger) in a way that makes them identifiable? Morally wrong and probably illegal too. Why would you even reply to this post just to say those things? Apart from that, I don’t need good authority from an insider… my own personal experience with this company was hell to put it mildly. Complete and total incompetence on their part. Ps I’m aware of two other owners who won legal compensation from similar mistakes to what they made on ours. You won’t read about them due to the nda they sign. Hi, I am wondering if anyone has built with Montgomery in the last few years on the Northern Beaches? I don't see the see them around, as I would love to ask how happy… 0 3191 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74709 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 105579 |
