just received the letter from council (Northern Beaches) that their inspection found damage to the public road outside our house which occured during the construction process. (I believe this was done by the excavator who did the demolition).
Does anyone have experience with repairing such damage and dealing with council throughout the process? We paid a $2000 bond, but afraid this will cost a lot more than that. I include the pictures below.

Yep. Looks like typical excavator tracks, from lack of care/intelligence from the operator. Also, that dragged line could've been from a 5mtr+ skip bin via hook lifter.
By rights, they should pay. But zero chance they'll entertain ANY conversation now.
My only advice... just because you can get a repair done, doesn't mean the council will sign-off. They should provide exactly what's required, as-in quality/content/finish levels.
I've seen repairs done multiple times before. PAIN.
