Private Building inspector

Hi everyone , we are thinking about having a private building inspector for our new build. Is it worth having one, and how much do they charge? Also, any recommendations…
Hi DaniB, FYI you've created two identical threads for this topic...

I recommend it for sure. And the prices I've seen range from $250 to about $550, depending on stage and which company it is.

Here are a couple of threads that delve into the topic - a search will show a whole lot more though

If you already have a contract, is the inspection cost stated in there? If not they would be forced to issue you a variation which you could of course object to.
