Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 27, 2019 5:58 pm Hi all, We are building a new house with Burbank in Brisbane. We have just done our electrical choices. However there is one issue I thought of near the end that they couldn't answer. (They said they will investigate and let me know). However i'd rather get others opinions as well. We plan to add air conditioner units at some point in the future (if needed). However, is there anything that we should add now, that will make it easier to install later? The house facade is brick, so i know they will drill through when they install them. But beyond that i dont know. Power points? (internal? or external?) or conduits or ? I simply have no idea. Any help is appreciated. Regards, Peter. Re: New Build - What to add for future Airconditioner units 2Jul 27, 2019 7:58 pm If you plan for individual splits then you should get an aircon installer to get all the power and pipes etc in during frame stage. We had 3 splits roughed in to our build and it is much easier and cleaner (ie. no pipe work having to go into external wall conduits etc) to get this done early. Back to back splits are fairly easy though so maybe unless you can’t get the condenser adjacent to the head unit you could do it later. Another thing is to ensure you have one spare ‘pole’ per split in your electrical meter box or sub board --------------------------------------------------------------------- Check our Homeone build blog here The last home I lived in didn't have a pool and when i went to sell it the agents were not happy, even telling me to put one in to sell the place.
