Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 20, 2019 2:21 am Hi everyone we are in the middle of our build and our first coat of interior paint has just gone on. I’m not happy with it. It looks beige when we were going for a super light grey. I’m wondering if anyone has used a taubmans colour that you could recommend. We really don’t want a beige/ grey or a blue/grey. Our colour we had picked is called high reaches. I liked snowdrift but I’m worried it’s far too dark, so am now looking at cotton touch or china doll (apparently they are the same . Any advice anyone has would be great. Pictures will be a bonus. Thanks 😁 Building the majestic 45 with Wisdom homes Re: Paint colours 2Jul 20, 2019 11:30 am See if Taubmans can colour match Dulux Casper White. We wanted a light grey, and we are very happy with the colour, combined with Snowy Mountain Quarter gloss trims and doors. Doesn’t matter what light conditions either, it doesn’t seem to throw any strange undertones. Just soft light grey....but if I had to say if was cool or warm...maybe very slightly warm. But like I said very neutral. So much so our painter is now doing part of his own house in this colour since his partner dropped his lunch off one day while he was doing our place and she said she preferred our colour than what he had chosen for them! Good luck with the build anyhow. If you click on my profile, you should our ‘Bryan and Petersen build’ thread. You have to ignore how they look onscreen to some extend, as this is what our Casper White swatch looks like: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This Frosted Ice at 74.3 will be similar to our Casper White is has an LRV of 75. Casper White's RBG are 223 (Red), 221 (green) and 214 (blue), so the Frosted ice will be similar at 226, 223 and 211. It will likely look a little warmer than Casper White though. If only you could find a colour with similar Red and Green values to this one (225, 223) but slightly higher blue (than 210), so around 214-215 blue. This would just take out any possible 'yellow' tones. But I still think this one wouldn't look too yellow anyhow. should still be a neutral grey. The green though at only slightly less will limit it looking too pink etc. But the blue down at 196 is what you would need to bring higher to remove any beige or warmth. The darkness of the colour though is referenced by the LRV at 62.6. Our Casper White is around 75 as a comparison. Anyhow if you like the 'darkness' of it but want it to look less warm then find something with slightly more blue in it.
