Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 19, 2019 6:14 pm Hi everyone, I'm in the stage of finalising the drawings and still need to make a few changes. It is subject to variation fee so I'm thinking to include all the changes that I needed / wanted. I haven't asked my builder yet but any idea how much it will cost to extend a room size in a ground floor location? Approximate size to extend is 1.44 meter x 4.11 meter. I have copied the picture below. The photo on the left side where the red line mark is relates to the extended area, while the photo on the right side is the possible output and I will also have plaster wall in between (green line) with 1 meter opening. I will be using this as walk in closet for extra storage. I know the cost will include providing the roof on the extended area, concrete flooring and plaster wall. Brick wall may not be applicable since we are only extending the area. Thank you and appreciate your inputs. Realistically it simplifies the hips/valleys in the roof and less articulations for brickies....but they typically won’t credit you for this! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Check our Homeone build blog here Re: New build - cost to extend the room size 4Jul 20, 2019 4:42 pm Shouldn't be too much pricey given the size Re: New build - cost to extend the room size 5Jul 22, 2019 12:45 pm Thank you both. Seems like not a really huge amount so I like to consider this option to extend. I was worried to ask the builder as I was thinking the cost might be over the ceiling but now I have a good idea so I'm more keen to go ahead. ok thanks - yes was wondering if that should have been listed as Option Three! 2 7741 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 18563 The last home I lived in didn't have a pool and when i went to sell it the agents were not happy, even telling me to put one in to sell the place.
