I believe the standard with our windows will be Whitco winders which seem quiet chunky (off to see windows on Friday). Because we have weatherboard, our reveal is 80mm and builder is saying this will leave us with about 65mm internally. The problem is we want plantation shutters which need 65mm clearance for the blades. Even if we get the winders behind the midrails (which need 20mm clearance) I think the Whitco might be too deep. Push handle won’t work as we also need flyscreens. So hoping someone has found a narrow/slim winder? The other idea (which I need to talk to builder about) is to set a plain architrave flush with the reveal instead of having the stepdown/quirk) which should give us a bit extra depth.....
