How big your house is? And did you hire an inspector? Isn't that afterclean part of the contract? What is the promised period of construction? HI roi, How was your overall experience with TVH? Where did you build a house and which design? I am considering them for building home in Melb. West. Can you share details of your construction process? Where did you build a house and which design? I am considering them for building home in Melb. West. Can you share details of your construction process? They haven't started the build. Can't say much yet except that they gave me a good deal. At the moment I am still waiting for them to do the promised 4 months turn over. You should ask Nash86. Re: Anybody built with True Value Homes in Melbourne 105Dec 01, 2020 9:45 am ASJ it may help if you'll try to get estimate of cost from different builders, that is how I concluded to signing with True Value Homes plus the reviews. I never saw any negative comments about them before I signed the contract. And the inclusions and design of the home is really good. You just need to be clear of what you want. Do a research before jumping in. Review some friends contract maybe, so you can get an idea about the structure specs. We are not expert in this thing but learning as much information as you can can be handy during inclusion discussion. Re: Anybody built with True Value Homes in Melbourne 106Dec 05, 2020 7:23 am Marc171 I should be starting building in November. What about you. Have you started building @roi How is your build? Progressing? I don't know when they will start. They said maximum time to get permit is 90 days. So I reckon they will start after 3 months. My neighbor is like on frames already. Thanks Hi BuildRight1 Have actually finished building with them and think they are of reasonable quality. However, customer service is a bit of a hit and miss from my experience as our site supervisor is kinda forgetful most of the times and needs some chasing - although i am hearing other site supervisors don't have this issue. Happy to provide a referral to you and you may get special pricing. PM me. Yes we are done with our build, 6 months for our single story, that is from the start of build, 9 months from settlement with Christmas holiday and Covid lockdown. TVH have turned over a beautiful home which was priced considerably lower by 50K compared to my friend's build price... with better inclusions, I'd say a 5 star. Also, I didn't find any major problem so far, just minor reworked doors. My colIeague's build with 1 of the top 10 builders had a bit of a major problem, and I didn't so I guess TVH is competitive enough. Since TVH have lifetime warranty that puts me at ease as well. But I would agree though that customer service is a hit and miss at times, 3 star. Just to clarify it is more on the office side for me. Unlike Marc171, I think our Supervisor is very nice and worked hard for our house. But then, like I said before in this thread, make sure to compare the inclusions with other builder. Anything they say during sales, please have it in writing. Get an inspector. The only way to know if you'll get a good deal is by checking the structure specifications (6star energy rating inclusion, window thickness, window glazing - please get someone who is expert on these things). If this is not your first build, then compare it with your old contract. Overall, I am happy with TVH build. I would be happy to build with them again in 3-5 years if the price and specifications are right. I haven’t. But have a Lowe Design home. Not only did I find Matt Lowe patronising and a bully, but the home is NOT TO CODE.
