Dry floor wastes as you have described are acceptable. $4k is a crazy price for the supply of dry floor wastes but that's another issue. I am pretty sure its the same in VIC. When I worked at Metricon the VIC crew thought we were crazy in NSW for requiring floor wastes Really? I was told this was one of the things a lot of people either underestimate, forget or didn't even know existed unless they asked for it on the options list. IMHO they are a must either on the top floor of a double storey and in the laundry in order to prevent flooding into other rooms and potentially saving on lots in damage costs.
