We are planning a knock down rebuild in the western suburbs of Sydney. Family of 5 (2 adults, 3 daughters). The house we have decided to build is a 4 bedder home with a study downstairs that we will use as a guest room when necessary.
Downstairs had a powder room (no shower)
Upstairs has the master ensuite, and the main bathroom as well as an additional ensuite to bedroom 2.
Our options...
1. Leave as is, 3.5 baths with all showers beingupstairs
2. Add in shower to downstairs powder room (by losing some of walk in pantry space) resulting in 4 bathrooms.
3. Add in the shower downstairs and remove the second ensuite (make beds 2 and 3 bigger) to bring it back to 3 bathrooms.
Note -
The reason we are consider this downstairs option is for guests to not need to go upstairs to shower, and also if anyone for whatever reason temporarily can’t use stairs there is an accessible shower.
bedrooms are already 3.3x3.8 so making them bigger is not a must, but would just be the outcome of removing ensuite 2.
Is 4 bathrooms way too excessive?
Is a shower downstairs really necessary?
Open to any thoughts?
Thank you!
