I was thinking something similar to this. As the walkway is only 1m wide it will need to be something that doesn't take too much space. Now that you pointed out about the GPO being too close to sink, your right - wouldn't want anyone getting electrocuted. Re: Our First Home with My Homes WA, Perth 49Dec 15, 2019 12:31 am chekii Went to the house after work. Unfortunately no one was there so was only able to take a few photos from the outside. Wet tiling has now been completed. The lady at the time shop suggest grey grout with our kitchen subway tiles which have been laid in a herringbone pattern. I'm glad she did, they look great. Hopefully I can visit the house when someone is there next week for better photos. Very nice looking subway tile 😊 Re: Our First Home with My Homes WA, Perth 51Dec 15, 2019 12:40 am chekii Bebbsy Is that a Matt White subway tile in your kitchen? Very nice looking subway tile 😊 Thanks heaps, I’ll check it out 🤞 Re: Our First Home with My Homes WA, Perth 52Dec 20, 2019 7:08 pm Tilers were doing the main tiles, so couldn't walk around the house. Will be interesting to see when the grout is in. We have chosen a light grey, same as the kitchen splashback grout. I see we also have tapware in. I hope the Christmas/New Year break doesn't delay too much. Wall paint is nearly done, just needs a final coat. Not too long now. Doors were painted and front door was getting stained. Aircon was delivered and should be getting installed soon. Shower screens and mirrors are being installed as well as toilets, which for some reason looks so weirdly small. Anyways, shouldn't be too long now! It's been booked in for next Friday. This week they were busy getting things fixed and finished. Today they were replacing the master bedroom WIR shelving. Main render is completed. Master bedroom ensuite shower screen is in but they measure the mirror wrongly so still waiting on that. They fixed the bathroom sink and looks better centralised. MyAir iPad thing is in. I placed it between the living and dining room because they said putting it on a single leaf wall would cost more (although would of made more sense). It looks weird but husband seems to think once everything is in it will be fine. Entrance door is stained "black" however to us it looks like a honey brown. I want it darker, they say they'll try but might not be possible 😭 Carpet, blinds, and flyscreens next week, along with other bits and bobs like cupboard bins. Not too long now.... But still so much to do. Overall we are happy with how the house has turned out. Waiting for our inspector's report to see what needs fixing. We saw a few things missing and chips need that need touching up, nothing too major. Handover should be in two weeks! Then we will be doing the driveway, deck and landscaping. We have booked in to do aggregate concrete for the driveway and side path. Bit annoyed, we unfortunately have a water meter, storm water and sewage drains all in the path of the driveway. We have the cast iron trafficable lids for them and they are butt ugly. 😭😭😭 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our First Home with My Homes WA, Perth 59Feb 06, 2020 12:37 am We have hired a landscape architect to help us plan out our landscaping as we had no idea where to start. Really happy with what he has come up with. The hardscaping will be done by contractors, and we will attempt to do the softscaping ourselves bit by bit. I think he has definitely jazzed up the front of house as our facade is just ordinary. Let's hope it goes to plan.
