Securing a property until a tenant is found

Hi Guys, our builder is handing over our investing property to us at the end of next week. Originally they agreed to hold off installing the appliances until we find a tenant but they have changed their mind now saying they don’t do it anymore.

So, how do we secure our property until a tenant is found? It’s a free standing house and in a new area, so lots of construction is going on around. I will take Landlord’s building insurance but that only covers stealing by tenants. Our real estate agent suggested Fog Alarm but that will cost $88 per week. Is there a cheaper way to secure the property?
Thanks in advance.
