I've just had these installed and they are appallingly soft. They take dents like you would not believe. If you drop a glass or a plate, expect to get a sizable dent in your floors. I'm not sure what the janka rating is on their "french oak" but here's a warning to everyone. DO NOT get these if you plan to do any normal living in your house.

Our timber floorboards run across the entry and it looks perfectly fine. Of course, with timber we might not have the same technical requirements to a floating floor.
