Re: Stone upgrade costs with builder ??? 4Jun 09, 2019 10:06 pm Really depends on your builder. If they outsource your kitchen to another company, you can always go talk to that company and organise to pay the difference in cash rather than go through the builder to save any possible builders mark up. I was told it was roughly (for my kitchen) $400 per grade. My builder allowed G1-G2, We ended up with G3 and it was roughly $380 (extra) The one we loved was G8, but alas, no ($2500+) Re: Stone upgrade costs with builder ??? 5Jun 09, 2019 10:52 pm It's impossible to say without knowing how large the kitchen (how many sheets) is and what edge detail you get included and what you are upgrading to. Standard colours are often only specced in 20mm thick. If you want 40mm laminated or thicker edges the cost goes up. If you are using a grained or feature stone then the edges are mitred and matched so the cost is higher again. It's easy for the price to ramp up quickly and the builder won't miss out on a healthy margin.
