Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building Clarendon Madison. 278Aug 07, 2009 6:30 pm Ok, it is now 1 whole year and week since we demolished our old house, the big C have been nothing but hell to deal with every step of the way, we really wish we walked away, even after paying $4,000.
Right at the start they wasted 6 months of our time, in December it will be 2 years since we signed up with them. There are people on this forum who were signed with C but walked away at the last minute, we have followed thier build threads after using another builder and watched them move in to thier beautiful homes while we are still waiting. Our SS has been hard to contact this week, been elusive with reasons why we have not had handover. We are unlikely to get handover next week either. Re: Building Clarendon Madison. 279Aug 07, 2009 7:35 pm Heathen, I so feel for you, we were with them & due to start this time last year, probably the same time frame as you. When we pulled out I thought that it would take heaps longer but we have gone through the planning stage & gone back to Council & we are now in our new home. I am sure that you will be in very soon & it will all be a distant memory when you don't have to deal with them any more. Your home looks fantastic, I bet you can't wait to enjoy it. We now have a blog. http://allaboutthebuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Building Clarendon Madison. 280Aug 08, 2009 10:30 am Hi Danma, Thanks, yes we are very happy with the home but as you mentioned the time it has taken is unbelievable, I think W did a great job on your home too and in maybe a third of the time including the pre-build stuff. Just amazing, obviously thier customer service is terrific. I feel so sorry for anyone going through the same hassles we are. I still highly recommend using a reputable independent inspector though, otherwise they will try and get away with anything they can. the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6987 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant. The Dept of Fair Trading would love to see this one! Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's… 4 8117 |
