Our garage in our planned build is also 6.0 wide by 6.5 deep and our plans show a 4800 wide door. Thinking this needs to be wider but don't have any experience with double doors to base this off. Also curious to how it will look visually.[/quote] Ended up with a 6,090 x 6,700 garage with a 5,110 wide opening for the door. Did it make much difference in cost to change the size of the door out of interest? Nope they actually had to make the garage door smaller from 5.2 to 5.1 because of council requirements Re: Is my potential double garage build too small? 27Sep 09, 2020 6:29 pm Bobjane Hi, I asked for a big garage but this is what the builder sent to me.
