I am starting planning for my next build and am considering a duplex as an option. I'm still in early stages but had some questions that I was hoping I could draw on the collective knowledge of our homeone members.
- I think the best option for me would be to go with a Project Builder. I'm not sure I have the confidence to go with a custom builder and don't have the experience for a owner-build. I'm conscious that not all project builders offer duplex designs and was just wondering whether those who offer it do it well (on the assumption that most of their builds are non-duplexes). I'm more looking at feedback on them managing the build process in areas more specific to duplex builds (e.g. subdivision, multiple meters, council requirements, multiple meters, etc.)
- It's quite difficult to get an idea of pricing even for single occupancy builds (even base prices). I would be very grateful for anyone that can share their build cost (either base, or completed) and builder. Even a per square meter rate would be useful! Looking at building in Sydney, but pricing even for other states would be useful at this stage.
