Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 08, 2019 12:09 pm Hello all! We are building in the new estate in Two Wells, Eden (starting in a few weeks!) Just wondering if anyone who is currently building there or has built there been made to buy a 10000L rain water tank? Our final plans have come back saying we need to have a 10000L rain water tank? Also the sump and pump, besides sorting payment, is this something the builder/site super visor looks after? For those that are already living there already, how are you all enjoying it? Thanks for your help everyone! Cheers, Josh. Re: Two Wells - Eden Estate 2May 08, 2019 2:21 pm jads88 Hello all! We are building in the new estate in Two Wells, Eden (starting in a few weeks!) Our final plans also say 10,000 connected to the house as part of council approval, So I would assume they will not issue a certificate of occupancy until its installed. Maybe @NicolleAW can shed some light, she is nearly at handover. With Alano, all I had to do was complete a form, and pay. I think other builders have completed the forms on behalf of the customer. Good luck with the build, soon to be neighbour! Re: Two Wells - Eden Estate 3May 21, 2019 1:59 pm Monkey55 jads88 Hello all! I don't think the council will come inspect every house so we are planning on getting a 10,000 litre tank but not plumbing it to the house. We just want to use it on the garden. As for Alano the advice I would give is try get it sorted as soon as the build starts!!! We had paid our 10K around Easter and there was a another $170 payment they were waiting on and some paper work from the builder and after 3 weeks the builder was like we haven't allowed for the $170 you need to pay for it. Alano say there's a 6 week wait on the pump normally but they are pushing ours along so hopefully we have it close to our handover date. We are 1 week from handover tomorrow so worried it wont be done in time, just means it will delay the time until we can actually move in. Once the pump has been installed we also need to arrange our own electrician (our builder hasn't allowed for it) to connect power. We have power on the corner of the house it just need to be ran to the pump and a control box installed. Hopefully you don't have issues with your builder and Alano though! I built with EB back on 2009.
