Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 29, 2019 9:56 pm Hi there, I need some advice on some rusty flashing. I went through my PCI and my private inspector found that the flashing around the house were rusty. This happened because when they cleaned the bricks, they've used some acid solution which damaged the flashing and made them rusty. The private inspector advised that the supplier of the COLORBOND flashing did not recommend to do any touch up for any damage on the COLORBOND steel. The builder went ahead and sanded up the rusty parts and still touched them up. The private inspector advised me that the touch up will eventually show in the long run and will have a blotchy look. What are your advice in terms of the look of the flashing and it's purpose in the long run Thanks I know this post is from a while ago, but the VBA has some good guidance on this. https://www.vba.vic.gov.au/__data/asset ... 5-Roof.pdf 2 10649 AFAIK, flashing is a minimum standard.
