Maybe use cavity sliders if the door swings are in the way. Not sure if the corner showers are just representative but they will be really cramped. Your ensuite is big enough to fit a double vanity on one wall. Move the toilet behind the door and put in a square or rectangular shower. The corner vanity and shower make the room look cramped and pokey. Get some huge windows in the dinning area to make use of the northern sun. I would do the entry to the laundry via the gge. Im also mindful theres no easy acxess to outside from the laundry, this would annoy me. I would chabge bedc3 window and add another window to living area. Id consider making the pantry really wide, have it take up the top section of your current pantry and laundry area and laundry on the bottom section Re: Floorplan feedback/recommendations please 4Apr 10, 2019 12:28 pm As above, I'd put laundry entry to garage, where is your clothesline going? Can you put an external door from the garage? The bathroom, personally I'd be moving the door over so it's on the shower side, rather than in the middle, and having the shower not have the angle - maybe even extend it to meet the bath, always nice to have showers a bit bigger. Moving the door should also ensure you have room for towel rails. I'd also avoid a corner vanity in the ensuite, even if you can't squeeze in a double, at least get a 1200 with one bowl. Not having a corner vanity should also give you room for towel rails on that wall. 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Floorplan feedback/recommendations please 5Apr 10, 2019 5:10 pm it's not a bad idea to have access via kitchen so you can keep an eye on the washing while cooking . On a serious note have a sliding door via kitchen and may be additional access via hallway. If you have thought it through then just close the kitchen access and relocate the door. I don't mind where it is located - just thought the opening to the kitchen was strange, but sounds like it's quite common. The corner showers is just part of the default diagrams. We plan of having rectangular or square showers for the more spacious and open look/feel. Definitely will be having big window for the natural light to come through! Approx 5.8x5.9. it meant that we had a sacrifice some space in the master bedroom but I'd prefer not bumping doors into adjacent cars etc. I didn't like that there's no opening from the laundry to the outside but there isn't a way to change that without reconfiguring the house. We're already tight on space due to council requirements etc. Re: Floorplan feedback/recommendations please 8Apr 10, 2019 5:21 pm stellabella As above, I'd put laundry entry to garage, where is your clothesline going? I didn't realise they didn't put one in the corner. Will definitely go for the bigger showers. The corner showers were just the default diagram. We haven't decided on the internal configuration of the wet areas yet so I'll keep in mind what you've said. Thanks! Re: Floorplan feedback/recommendations please 9Apr 12, 2019 8:22 am That main bedroom … it's huge, yet the wardrobe isn't. Will you actually use all the extra non-bed space in that bedroom? I mean some people do, but if you'd only be using it to get dressed & undressed maybe consider shrinking that bedroom a little & giving more space for a walk-in robe that can be used as a dressing room? Re: Floorplan feedback/recommendations please 10Apr 12, 2019 8:38 am I don't like that there is no buffer from the living room / kitchen to the bedrooms 3 & 4. I'm all about privacy and this just does't look right. There are many ways to conceal, like a hall way, like you have for bedroom 2. I also don't like the sink to the side. Think about practicality, when washing up - i like room on one side to stack the dishes, then the other to dry off. Yes - I am not a fan of corner showers either and I would always try and think of resale value of your home (being the only tax free asset you are legally able to have).
