I had handover last October and after moving in, I noticed upon opening the stacker door that there was damage to the underside.
I raised it as a service item along with other items which were rectified. The builder suggested sending out a painter to make the "damage look better" but not fixing it.
I asked for the door to be replaced because I know the damage happened prior to handover due to the trades tracking in debris fron outside which got stuck in the tracks. Also, we paid $1300 to get this upgraded from standard so we are disappointed that it is damaged.
This is the response I got from the builder.
"It was not noted on any documentation such as the QA or Completion of Works signed prior to hand over, therefore we can only assume it was damaged after settlement."
"The painter we contacted is confident he can make the damage look better but Metricon will not be replacing the door without any documentation or a photo which noted this item prior to settlement."
Do I have a leg to stand on or do I just give up?

Not sure in Victoria but if it's anything like WA those boards are controlled by the builders so are generally worse than useless for solving issues that might cost a builder some of their margin.
