I've browsed this forum like crazy so I felt I just had to share

. I was planning on starting my building thread a couple of months into the build, and am surprised by how much the builder has completed in a relatively short time!

Some details:

House size : 21.34 sq
Builder: Persaud Homes
Building in Werribee, Melbourne

Land Contract signed - 20/6/2010
Building contract signed - 10/07/2010
Land Settled - 20/08/2010
Foundation slab laid: 22/09/2001
Frame up and completed: 16/10/2010
Lock up stage completed: 20/10/2010
Fixing stage completed: 11/11/2010

At this rate I might get into the house by mid-december!

Some of my selections:

Wall color is Antique white throughout the house.

Kitchen cupboards are a white gloss laminate. Benchtop is Ceaser stone in Osprey. Will have glass splashback in Dulux Red Box color. Can't wait to see that one!

Laminate flooring to the living and dining, kitchen and dark chocolate carpet to the bedrooms and front lounge room.

Bathroom vanity cupboards and surface

Ensuite Floor and Wall tile is a lovely glazed Porcelain called Opal Bottacine

Ensuite feature tile - Entiva Tuscany stone

I will have 11W Lummax CFL downlights in the kitchen, and 9W CFL downlights to the Living area. Additonally LED strip lights under the kitchen cabinets and a lovely pendant light over the dining area. Rest of the house gets simple, unobtrusive battens....or maybe the master bedroom might get a pendant too

These are the latest pics from today. The walls have been painted and the kitchen cupboards have been put in. It doesn't look so bad now....I guess I still have room to whip up master chef inspired dishes!

The front porch infills have been painted and I don't like it at all! Any suggestions? Maybe paint it in a different color? Or render it perhaps?

Anyone have any feedback/suggestions on the cream colored infills over the front porch. I think it stands out, and not in a good way ::hyst::

Any suggestions on what I can do to rectify?

Very excited! The carpets, laminate flooring and tiles have been put in, so am going to take a look at that tomorrow. Am getting closer and closer to moving in!

Hi. I like your plan. I don't think the infills look too bad, but if you don't like it, your probably could paint it. Can't wait to see your kitchen splashback in. I can't believe how quickly your house is being built.

Yeah carlswil, I can't believe how quick it's gone either! I did'nt bother starting a thread when the slab was about to be put in as I was going away for a few weeks and I thought I'd start one after I returned. When I came back, they had finished the Frame and Fixing

and then informed me that I could move in by december - that was scary and exciting!
I just took a look at your building thread and love that you too have the study\retreat leading from the master

Walked through the house today to take a look. Few more things done in the week since I last saw it, carpets not put in yet and no splashback either. But hey - they are 3 months ahead of schedule so not complaining!

I am having second thoughts about the feature tiles below the mirror. I knew they weren't going to be perfectly aligned with the feature tiles that run along the bath, but now that I can actually see them, it just looks wrong......

I think the placement of these tiles is fine. There's nothing odd about it at first glance. I just love the feature tile itself.

At second glance, if the strip continued around the bath at the same height as it is under the mirror it would flow better... BUT still looks gorgeous
