Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 11, 2021 9:27 pm HI All, i just noticed in our tender from the builder that only 2 taps are included: 1 - garden potable tap (front yard) 1 - rain water tank tap I feel we would need + 1 "potable" garden tap at the back? im just so used to having one at the back available for this. what has everyone else done ? Thanks, Re: how many "potable" garden taps? 3May 12, 2021 10:31 pm My build had a tap out the front and out the back. I've added an extra tap in the alfresco and another out the front with a powerpoint for an irrigation system. Think about it in terms of ease of use, a single tap is enough you can get 200m+ hoses but it'd be a pain, taps don't cost much so might as well add a few. Thanks, That's just plain dumb on the part of your builder. Even if you paved your entire backyard you're still going to need a tap there for yearly pressure cleaning, watering pots, filling the dog's water bowl etc etc. Re: how many "potable" garden taps? 5May 13, 2021 1:48 pm We have one front and back. Not putting a 3rd at the side, outside the laundry, is my biggest regret from our build. We had it priced but it seemed a completely unreasonable amount at the time so we left it out. A 30 m hose reaches fine but its annoying. Re: how many "potable" garden taps? 6May 16, 2021 10:20 am Our builder includes 2 garden taps as standard (1 at the front and 1 at the rear). We added an additional 2 (@ $380 each) so that we have one at each corner. 2 are potable water and the other 2 are fed from the rainwater tank. Re: how many "potable" garden taps? 7May 17, 2021 9:55 am Yeah we added a third and probably should have added a fourth considering it was only $150 to add it in during the build. We have 2 down the garage side of our house (1 front, 1 rear) and the other is in the center of the house on the other side near the water tank. All potable. My hesitation… 0 24692 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 105542 They already have two well known ones (HIA & MBA) that many new home buyers mistakenly think are regulatory bodies that Joe Public can complain to. 6 18021 |
