Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 21, 2019 10:24 pm Hello. We are building with Ross North in Perth and they are using a relatively new product for internal wall plastering. It's called Multi Finish and I think the brand is Thistle. Apparently it's popular in the UK. They are half way done with the plastering and it looks and feels great. Very smooth, almost like marble. It dries with a pinkish hue. Has anyone had experience with this? We've had some shockingly bad walls in rental houses so hopefully this is a good solution. I'm wondering how easy it will be to hang pictures etc. Re: Thistle Multi Finish Plaster 2Feb 21, 2019 11:28 pm I'm currently building my own house and have opted for the Thistle multifinish. It's much harder than the standard plaster set, and won't have the long term issues that typical lime based set can have. The only issue we found was the plasterer over finished the walls. Some spots were glassy. Apparently it should only be trowelled smooth not polished like they typically do with standard set. We ended up giving the walls a light sand before the painter sealed them. I would definitely recommend it over standard plaster set.
