Just joined the site and reading up on all the posts, very informative.
Bought my first home 2 years ago in padstow (an old fibro built in the 1960s) and decided to take the plunge and build a duplex.
There are a few popping up around my area and some look great whereas some not so much.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good duplex builder/design? I've been looking at Blue Gem Constructions, Metricon, Kurmond Homes and Masterton Homes.
I'm a complete newbie in building and the whole process so is there any standard/common issues/tips i should be aware of?
My block size is 560sqm - 15.24m width and 36.74m depth. i think its pretty level, maybe a 5-8 degree incline from the street to the home.
As i am only single income earner and still have about $340k mortgage, speaking to the bank, my budget is around $550k - $600k.
Would this be sufficient funds for a decent quality build?
Any help or recommendation is appreciated. Cheers
