Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 07, 2019 1:56 pm Hi all I've recently purchased a block of land near batemans bay in NSW covered by the biodiversity values map. Am hoping to build on the land (zoned R5), but currently trying to navigate the biodiversity mapping (which makes tree clearing difficult/expensive) vs the bushfire asset protection zone requirements (which, in my case, requires about 50 meters of tree clearing to get to Bal 29). Just wondering if anyone has any advice about building on land covered by the NSW Biodiversity Values Map? In particular - has anyone: - Requested a BV Map explanation report and subsequently requested a BV map review? Any advice on this process? - Had to hire an environmental consultant to complete an assessment of the land? Any advice on this? - Had to buy offsets to undertake tree clearing? Any idea how much the offsets costs and any other advice on this?
