Re: Austral Wilderness Grey Gum 3May 19, 2020 1:55 pm khusnil.deo Hi there, what did you end up chosing. Im tossing between grey gum and hubby is fixated on blue gum from their wilderness range. Thanks. We just finished a build with blue gum, we're quite happy with them. Re: Austral Wilderness Grey Gum 4May 19, 2020 7:15 pm oh nice, would love some pictures please. Just wondering if your Blue Gum is showing two color variations. This usually happens when you blend two different colors, but the sales rep told us that they usually give two tone colors, dark and light. Best to just take a look here and you can see a number of different pictures. https://www.instagram.com/thatusernameistakenwhy/ Re: Austral Wilderness Grey Gum 6May 20, 2020 11:03 am dga Yes, there is variation in the colour, usually between the blue and brown. Best to just take a look here and you can see a number of different pictures. https://www.instagram.com/thatusernameistakenwhy/ Thank you so much for sharing, you have a beautiful home and so spacious. Unfortunately Im building in Sydney where land prices are astronomical and stupid me decided steel frames so our base price is quite high for a 3 bedroom house with media/activities room and double garage. We made a lot of extension here and there too. Any particular reason why you went with Colorbond? Hubby and I are both fixated on the Blue Gum, but cant find a matching roof from Monier concrete tiles which is what the builder is offering. I see you have either woodland Grey or maybe Monument for your colorbond??? We cant choose Sambuca as its not accepted by the estate. So the next darkest is Barramundi in the Monier concrete tile. Im not too fussed about rood, Im fine with either concrete or colorbond. Id go with Monument for colorbond. Thanks again so much for sharing your Blue Gum It certainly shows the two color variation which what we both liked. Makes it unique. Re: Austral Wilderness Grey Gum 7May 20, 2020 11:14 am Thanks. Yes, we like the way the bricks are blue, but with the brown base there's a lot of variation to them. Especially when the light hits it. I just wanted a colorbond roof, as I liked the look of it more than tiles. The old house we knocked down had concrete tiles, and they were quite old and tired and I hated them. Also 99% of the houses in my area have tiles so something a little different also appealed. You're right about the colour, we went with a monument roof (plus gutters, fascia's and windows). We liked the contrast of the dark grey with the bricks and the white exterior wood. Good luck with your colour choices, it's daunting and as it's being built you might second guess them, but I'm sure you'll love it. |
