Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 03, 2019 7:47 am Hi, my husband and I want to build a new home on a rural block but our budget is only $300k approx including connection, driveway etc, everything basically. The volume builders can do a house but most of their more basic plans (which are fine) are not flexible to allow double glazing and eaves. This is non negotiable for us. Does anyone know of a volume builder that has flexible but affordable plans? We are just outside Geelong Re: Affordable but flexible volume builder 2Feb 03, 2019 1:11 pm pvroom Hi, my husband and I want to build a new home on a rural block but our budget is only $300k approx including connection, driveway etc, everything basically. Does anyone know of a volume builder that has flexible but affordable plans? We are just outside Geelong Hi pvroom, I have built with Fairhaven Homes, just outside of Geelong. For the most part my build has gone smoothly, though whoever you go with I highly advise getting an independent inspector (I used Darbecca). I found Fairhaven to be pretty flexible. I upgraded to double glazed and made a minor change to the layout so I could have a powder room. I had a really tight budget (~$200k for the house) and feel most of what was included or upgrades were reasonably priced. They have two display homes in Armstrong Creek. Is $300k for the house alone? Do you know what size house you are looking for? They also have base prices listed on their website https://www.fairhavenhomes.com.au/ A family member of mine built with Simonds and had a decent experience, but I don't know much about them. Just shoot out some emails to volume builders in… 3 18569 I would be wary. Is you site demilished but nothing else done? Sounds like liquidity problems to me. Our builder did the same. Got hundreds of thousands of dollars of… 2 15401 Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent. 4 5727 |
