Ohhhh, that’s going to be gorgeous! Do ponds need to be fenced off like pools?
We don’t have a pond, but there’s a handball square and trampoline incorporated in our landscape. Pretty similar really

Yes they need fencing if they're deeper than 30cm. I'll either need to keep the pond shallow or submerge some steel mesh to 30cm depth like a bird guard. My local koi nursery assure me that they keep their fish in 30cm deep ponds quite successfully.
A handball court and trampoline will be great fun! My teenage kids are trying to convince me to pave the entire backyard for a basketball court. That's not happening!

I got the builder to give me access to our site after they delivered the beams but before they installed them. I went in, cleaned all the beams and coated them all in a Rust Proof Primer. They look so much better and will never rust. I know they are hidden and will not rust to the point of breaking for about 40 years, but I wanted it done for peace of mind. I find it a cop out that the builder uses a document from Structerre that says that the beams are concealed and not exposed and so require no corrosion protection according to the NCC.
I was also concerned that if moisture built up at all and dripped from the beam onto the gyproc it would leave a rusty water stain to seep throught onto our ceiling.
All up cost me a day of my time and about $100 in materials from good old Bunnings.

It should start coming together pretty quickly for you now that that second slab is done. Is your second floor brick or frame? There's a few double's going up near us and the top floor seems to get completed really fast.

I hope so. Our upper floor is double brick. Technically they should be able to load the bricks after one week of slab curing. It would be great to get a roof before the winter weather hits us.

A good portion of the upper floor brickwork was completed this week. The staircase has been blocked with scaffolding which prevents us from being able to have a good look for now.
It may be interesting to note that the metal door frames on this floor have single course bricks over them, like with the windows.

I suggest you also look into what happens if the builder doesn't build your house according to the original design and engineering here
