I want quiet one, and still can’t decide best brand for it !!! Re: New home build - Custom Design WA 122Oct 28, 2019 6:23 am I must say I haven’t given much thought to the garage door motor on our build. But FWIW, we just got a new motor on the door for our existing house, just a bog standard one, and it’s pretty quiet. The old one was very much louder and seemed to take forever to open Re: New home build - Custom Design WA 127Nov 08, 2019 6:17 pm This week the fixing carpenter installed the doors, architraves and built in shelving. So we are now locked out of the house. The plasterer appears to have finished all the cornices, and just has a few small details to finish off. Our ceilings were due to be painted but this appears to have been delayed. The cabinetry was also due to be installed but was delayed due to our selected kitchen laminate being on backorder. The wet area cabinets and some of the laundry cupboards were installed though. Re: New home build - Custom Design WA 134Nov 12, 2019 12:13 am So is everyone on this site mate. However it's not fair to post your own build pics on another persons build thread. Plus it's very confusing for readers. You can share your excitement on a thread of your own. Re: New home build - Custom Design WA 135Nov 15, 2019 5:42 pm This week the ground floor ceilings were painted and the doors primed. The tiling screed and waterproofing were done as well. The tiles have been delivered ready for our tile meeting next week. Although I was a bit disappointed to see that the cabinet makers put a very visible join on the side of our pantry. I have asked for them to replace it, as it is very obvious. I'm looking forward to taking the protective plastic off the matte black doors! I was nervous about our tile choice, but I'm happy with how is looking so far. The lappato texture reflects light quite nicely which makes up for the dark colour of the tile. I noticed the whole bathroom floor was waterproof, is this normal or did you have to ask for it? I've seen images of other waterproofing and it was only the shower section and surrounding area. Re: New home build - Custom Design WA 140Nov 26, 2019 9:54 am We didn't specifically ask for waterproofing on the whole of the bathroom floor. I wonder if they did it because of the hobless showers? We also have freestanding baths in 2 of the bathrooms so that may have been another reason. ideal house depends on the site and location as much as internal floor plan....what is the distance from the house to all four boundaries, where is north, describe your… 3 15169 6 55354 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site!
