Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 25, 2019 7:42 am Hi, I noticed that my bathroom cabinets have been roughly installed. Does that mean that there won't be water proofing in that area? I doubt the contractor will move it during water proofing. I understand some volume builders does only water proofing in the shower area based on their alternative solutions. I don't think mine does that since I didn't have to signed off any alternative solutions. Yes thanks to homeone I did my research during admin stage and didn't see such performance solution on contract. There was one performance solution related to something else that I was asked to sign. That's was about it. Will be upset if my builder didn't tell me about it. But I noticed on this forum some posters post their bathroom with the cabinets installed before the water proofing was done. This is outside my area of expertise unfortunately. Maybe go through some threads to find posters also building your house and see if they have a blog. Most blogs have heaps of photos. Alternatively, just ask your SS. It is best to take as many photos as you can, even if you don't know what you are taking photos of. All the best with the build. 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: Bathroom water proofing. 6Jan 25, 2019 2:01 pm Thanks, Yes I eventually did ask my SS. He said the whole wet area would be water proof and a certificate will be given for it. However I did not ask him what are they going to do with the cabinet. Since in theory I'm not suppose to to in there. Anyway will continue to monitor it and trust my SS. Water proofing around cabinet is definitely not ideal but seems to be an acceptable standard. I personally don't like it especially if I have an extra waste outlet on the floor tiles - outside the shower. http://www.build.com.au/waterproofing-0 thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16268 It worked for me in getting all non notified rain days removed from the builders claim, although the LDs was only $50/day 7 5940 Scientists have used random matrix theory to demonstrate theoretically that the neutrino mass hierarchy can be explained mathematically.
