Trusses took probably another 2 days with an extra apprentice on hand....so pretty quick. Then I think they spent another day then doing fiddly stuff, like bottom chord ties and wall bracing etc. For us Thursday & Friday this week, they did DPC & wall wrap, and all windows/doors installed in that time. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Check our Homeone build blog here Re: Building the Simonds Cleland 233 in SA 48Mar 30, 2019 7:48 am darb74 Our wall frames were up in 2 days easy with one chippy and apprentice. Awesome how exciting so you would now be at brick stage? I’m hoping they start ours Monday and are done by Friday Re: Building the Simonds Cleland 233 in SA 49Mar 31, 2019 6:19 pm Went out to site today (sunday) to meet a gentleman for a retaining quote and was pleasantly surprised to find a team of 3 allready starting our frame work 😳 had a good talk with them etc they seem like great tradies and really friendly! But assuming your inspector ticks it off, I would be guessing scaffolding, eaves/gutter, sarking and roof in that order? How’d you find the blower/vac for tidying up? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Check our Homeone build blog here Re: Building the Simonds Cleland 233 in SA 53Apr 05, 2019 7:49 am darb74 Next will be a nice frame invoice! 🤪. But assuming your inspector ticks it off, I would be guessing scaffolding, eaves/gutter, sarking and roof in that order? How’d you find the blower/vac for tidying up? haha i know right we have only just sent the one in for the slab this week so i am sure there will be another invoice next week at some stage !! We had our first site visit this week with our site supervisor Andy also and he was great only a couple minor things to fix on the frame which they already done by the looks! one thing that bothered me was the amount of nails just left around the block so we spent ages going around picking them up but after handover we will do a final site scrape and tidy up anyway i guess The blower vac works awesome i have it in my car at all times with a broom As far as i am aware he said windows and roof next week then they will be wrapping it and probably starting on the inside as there is a shortage of good brickies at the moment. So no rush as we are going to be very particular on the brickwork so happy to wait for a good brickie Re: Building the Simonds Cleland 233 in SA 58Apr 16, 2019 8:30 pm Looking great, no wonder you’re happy! Thank you Bebbsy it is monument and we are also going a similar colour brick with charcoal mortar so it’s going to be really dark 😳 Re: Building the Simonds Cleland 233 in SA 60Apr 17, 2019 1:48 pm What insulation has everyone gone roof and walls? Is it worth upgrading ? Did you just get the standard outer walls or all walls? Upgrade roof insulation? Extra wirly bird? Is it worth it? I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 46146 Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed.
