Coming along very nicely, you will be in before you know it !!! Happy Easter to you both !! Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 103Apr 10, 2009 7:56 am Looking good, Kylie - LOVE your front door! And the raised entry ceiling. Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 104Apr 10, 2009 8:14 am Gee your house is coming along beautifully. Your bricks look quite similar to ours. Hope you get a chance to get more photos soon. Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 105Apr 10, 2009 8:14 am thanks everyone for your comments!!! Jess - I actually took the plantation shutters out of the contract in the beginning, but then put them back in at the last minute because it was actually cheaper to go through the builder for them...go figure!!! I am very excited about when they go in, its the little touches that are most exciting for me! Megzy it must be so frustrating to have no work for so long...I hope you get a key? Our next door neighbours built the jasper (back then the aspen 35) and I don't think they got keys but I don't think M3tric0n are as fussy as Perry. I am about to look on your thread so I hope things have improved! Jellylegs we can't believe the lengths that Perry go to keep us out - just ask Stu!!! I think that word of mouth isn't good in this area because when you are spending $250 000 on a house, I think there is a big vested interest to make sure things go okay, and most 'normal' people will have a look at where a big chunk of their money is being spent! DP had a meeting with SS and Area Manager yesterday and we finally got listened to about a few things, so we are happy. We are also happy with the progress, but we are a little sad that feedback does not appear to be always welcome THanks Ryan Oliver...we are flying but somehow just waiting for it to suddenly stop for no reason! It is a waiting game which is frustrating after all the waiting and to and froing with the paperwork. Happy Easter Crissy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope the Easter bunny brings lots of yummy chocolate for you Kek - thanks for your comments re the front door! We like it too and we are in love with the ceiling in the entry it is going to look lovely and I think the favourite part of the house! HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 106Apr 10, 2009 8:28 am Another quick update which I forgot: WE RAN OUT OF BRICKS So we are waiting on a delivery from Boral which was supposed to come yesterday which never did! We are very lucky, they are nearly finished bricking and our plaster is just about finished too, so all in all very small but totally frustrating with the rain delays that we have had...so they probably won't be finished until sometime at the end of next week - depending on the delivery. It won't stop the interior work though We have also ordered our bamboo floors Our kitchen has been finalised and will now include a wine rack and 13 extra draws We are in the process of working out fencing all 280 meters of it So that is it for now!!!!! Exciting times, and we can't wait to be in! We will have our house earlier than normal because we are doing all the flooring ourselves Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 107Apr 10, 2009 6:56 pm Wow! Your house is coming up beautifully kyiee81 - you must be so excited. I am so wrapped about having also chosen the Giraween bricks..can't wait to see yours close up when you can manage more photos (pity about the lack of access to your site). Looks like we are having similar colour roof tiles too -although our windows will be black. What colour will your front door be BTW? Building the 22sq Ashton Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 108Apr 11, 2009 7:50 am kexkez, I missed your comment thank you so much! I have been watching your house too, I love your breakfast bar with the wood! It looks simply stunning! Thank you for your kind words! It took me ages to do the photos but I will endeavour to continue Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 109Apr 11, 2009 7:57 am jolie I will try and put some better photos up of the bricks for you - they are too small so I will see if I can do it bigger . Thanks for your comments!! I am in love with the girraween bricks - just like the colourbond ad I go and have a drive by and go ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! They look awesome in person, really nice with the dark roof and dark windows will be nice. We are regretting slightly our choice in paperbark as we will be having our windows tinted professionally and worried it will look a bit funny. Good choice too on the off white mortar it just doesn't look right with grey just my opinion though. I look foward to watching your house too when it starts the Ashton was one of the very first houses that we short listed, that and the calai by Hall Mark so great choice! Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 113Apr 11, 2009 10:16 am ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC HOUSE AND COLOUR SCHEME!! Just love it!! Keep the photos coming!! BTW, I was looking through the Hallmark brochure last night and saw the Topaz which is marginally dearer than the Ashton and goodness knows why we never considered it at the time.. as it has a far better facade with the roof gables and portico. I totally freaked out and nearly burst into tears on how could we have been so focussed on price and internal design and totally overlooked facade!! (mind you, our modified Ashton plan is great for our needs). Woke up today feeling a bit low but when I saw the pictures of your house with the bricks and the roof, and envisaged how our Aston would look like - I felt so MUCH better!!! DH says "no use crying over spilt milk!". Building the 22sq Ashton Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 114Apr 11, 2009 10:42 am I just had a quick look at the Hallmark website and the Topaz design versus Ashton...I think they are both great designs, but I think the Ashton has the better kitchen I also love the Ashton facade, but I am biast because it looks almost the same as ours! Overall the Ashton appears to be a more functional house, with the multipurpose area and study. But, I do feel your pain! I have had several crying, tantrums because of our floor plan...not quiet happy with this and that...I regret not putting a door on our 'study area'. I also totally regretted not having draws in our kitchen at the plan/draw stage due to $$$$ and because we were told we weren't able to talk to the cabinet maker and then he rang to confirm things (which we didn't think would happen!) and then I got my draws I also have regular freak outs about our colours - particularly our kitchen colours That's part of the excitement though and my partner's favourite saying is 'stop flat-spinning it will be okay' I am glad the pictures are helpful! Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 115Apr 11, 2009 11:00 am Thanks Kyiee- glad to hear that you did get your draws in the end!!. that was lucky! I am sure your kitchen colours will be great when it all comes together!! I think I am getting my sanity back - I just put up a poll on the forum to see what was more important internal plan or external appearance when choosing a house and it looks like the internal plan is in the lead! So makes me feel better for having gone for the Ashton because ofit's plan!! This whole house building thing is turning me into such a psycho!! : lol We did modify the Ashton and moved the kitchen out into the MPR to give larger meals/family: will scan & upload it later... Building the 22sq Ashton Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 116Apr 11, 2009 2:55 pm those changes sound interesting!!! can't wait to see it . I think the plan is the most important thing and the facade is secondary. Again, I am biast but I think with the colours you have chosen its going to look lovely edited to add: totally agree with your psycho comment!!!!! Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 117Apr 12, 2009 2:30 pm Happy Easter everyone!! Kyiee, here is our modified Ashton: http://www.imagebam.com/image/82380732456313 And here is the original version: http://www.hallmarkhomes.com.au/house-plans.php?id=9 What we lost in breakfast bar, we gained in family room space... so wasn't a bad trade off as far as I'm concerned. By the way, the picture of the Ashton on Hallmark's website still has the gables etc.. but the current Ashton on offer is plainer. This is what our house will look like: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15123&p=183107&hilit=jolie#p183107 Probably explains what my fuss was about when comparing wth the Topaz - but I'm back to my senses now and just looking forward for Pine Rivers/Moreton By Council to get their "Approved" stamp out and here we go!! Building the 22sq Ashton Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 118Apr 14, 2009 8:34 pm Hi Jolie! I posted on your photoshop thread too just wanted to say that your plan looks fabulous and I totally understand that whole 'see another plan and your stomach drops!' I have done it soooo much. I really liked Perry Homes Sanctuary design but there was no display...we signed on the seville and then lo and behold the sanctuary opens up as a display - well did I go mental! Why didn't we choose it etc!!! Although now we are progressing I remember why I chose the seville it was for the back of the house with doors all across and the kitchen overlooking the backyard...but....I still go "when we build our next house, we will have this, we will have that..." there are so many things I am not quiet happy with! A hallmark home has just started in our area - not sure which design but i will let you know how quick/slow it goes up! Bring on pine rivers approval!!!! Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 119Apr 14, 2009 8:45 pm Update 14/04/09 We have ceiling cornices and all our cabinets are arriving thursday/friday We have had a few minor issues - hopefully they will be fixed after about the 5th time of raising them! No photos as we haven't been able to go on site as per usual I still think they are crazy to think that when someone pays $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for something they have the right to have input into the workmanship...how else would you pick up if a window was put in the wrong place or a change you made and paid for wasn't done??????? Anyway not long to go now! I hope everyone had a safe and happy easter!!! Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Our house with Perry Homes heaps of photos 9/04!!!!!!!!!!!!! 120Apr 14, 2009 9:36 pm Kyiee, Being on acreage and the amount of space around the house, what lengths are Perry doing to prevent you from getting close to the house? I am wondering the same thing when our's starts as if you spot something how can you mention the problem to them as they will know you have been down there.
