You should also have the brickwork inspected as well
The main structural stages are , Siteworks, Footing/Slab, Brickwork, Framework, Roofing
Have them inspected and take lots of photos, ask questions and rectify issues ASAP .
Refer to your engineers plans and notes for structural elements details hth

Thanks for the reply. It is a house and land package so makes things a bit more complicated in terms of inspections, but will chat to the supervisor tomorrow.
I’m guessing by what your saying that crumbling is not normal?
Get the engineer to inspect and get them to sign off on a solution to strengthen and protect your slab edge before it's buried in mud.
i would also be questioning the brickwork as it looks a little bit sloppy and un even? the holes can be filled in though.
I think is industry std these days?
Initially I was shocked at my house brick work. Since i was expecting perfection.... Then got hit hard with reality.
Then I start to drive around and see other new houses brickwork.. At 1st glance they look perfect, but when you stared at it from a distance, then you can see all the un eveness.... Even the brickwork of 1 million mansions.
To hide crappy brick work , house these days has fancy rendering/designs etc etc etc..
From myself I was trying to cut down on future maintenance so I did all brick front facade without render.. Kind of regret it.
Edit: And wasn't this weeks Interim Report on Opal Tower an illuminating read with its comments re design and construction execution?

Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely.

The concreter will take and reuse. In my case I bought structural LVLs and scraped them back and used them as joists.
