Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 13, 2008 9:02 pm It's time for me to throw it all out there for some comments, encouragement and good karma in our quest to build our family a home. This is the floor plan that we've chosen that best suited our block amongst all the other personal requirements. The blue section is the changes we made, the garage can't protrude from at the front of the house so we've pushed it back into the study area. We have also pushed the dining room out and back, this will be more of a rumpus room as we don't do 'formal' dining. I'm having probs seeing your plan properly, doesn't enlarge when I click on it.....can't offer suggestions to fix the picture (not floorplan) unfortunately! Where are you at in the building process, have you got council approval? Which state are you? Sorry - so many q's, just call me Mrs Mangle! Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Junk and Disorder - New Home Required 3Sep 13, 2008 9:14 pm Have always loved the WIR between the bedroom & the ensuite.
Getting older DH & I tend to get up during the night & having the e/s right near the bedroom is a real pain Like the master bed set away from the other bedrooms. Don't know how old your children are, but it's great not to have to hear our kids' music, computer games, conversations, etc..I'm sure it goes both ways ? We thought when we bought the block (14 months ago !!! ) we would be in by Xmas 2008!!! Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Junk and Disorder - New Home Required 8Sep 13, 2008 11:10 pm Looks like a great plan, I like the flow of all the rooms and the segregation between formal/ informal living.
I would just recommend that you make sure you have doors on the rumpus so you can close it off if you need to. And if possible maybe add a little more benchbspace in the kitchen? Which way is North? I like this plan a lot, my family could easily live in this house. Old Home Restoration / Renovation Hi, just discovered all these junks left behind under the floor. Could any of these be asbestos? Best to leave as it is or clean up?
