Will they fix it? We've just moved into ours, and there are a few things i now realized i should have complained about, but still minor issues. Happy to just be finally in. Wishing you the best. Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 345Apr 27, 2020 4:09 pm Freak_Zombie They spent so much money and effort to install the wrong thing. Why?!!! Oh no! That is such a pain Freak_Zombie . While they may be "close", there is a definite difference between the veining on the two pieces. Why wouldn't they quadruple check??? https://thomasarcherbuild.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html - Thomas Archer Homes - Custom Nouveau 41 Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 346Apr 27, 2020 7:39 pm Blacktea2sugars Freak_Zombie They spent so much money and effort to install the wrong thing. It's not just the veining, I can live if it's just the veining, but with the lyra stone, there's a lot of small spots/dots that you can't really see in photos but pretty obvious in person. In person, the veining and the slight shades looks so much better on the stone I chose too. Sigh, this is such a pain. Now I'll have to rent out storage for all the furniture I have coming in. Makes it look cheaper/manufactured looking as apposed to a more real marble appearance. Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 349Apr 30, 2020 4:04 pm Yays! Finally some good news. I thought i would need to pay for storage but I managed to extend all of the delivery dates by about 2 weeks because I just got word that I'll be able to move in mid May! Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 350May 01, 2020 8:07 pm Hey Guys, looking to do concreting around the house. I've been told I require a minimum of 600mm to best protect the slab? Would that suffice? What's the typical cost? From what I've gathered online it starts off at $70 per sqm? Also trying to get quotes for crushed rock so that I can install artificial grass on top of it myself. What would be a reasonable charge for that? Thanks! Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 351May 01, 2020 10:05 pm I was expecting that too, but the quotes came in quite a bit higher. I think thats the pricing guide for basic cement driveways which are usually easier access and easier prep work. We did do it much wider than yours for the most of it, i think our narrowest was 1m, its a nice wide walking width. We had some difficult concrete paving around the house (some sections along a neighbours fence, and a large portion of the rest was up against a retaining wall. I think ours was 1x 20m. and then 2x10m . It was about $110 per sqm. Which was on the very high side of all estimates. Included a bit of drainage as well. Probably overpaid (At worst i was getting ripped off 1-2k i would say), however they had a lot of additional prep work, cutting metal protection up against the retaining wall etc. Even drilled little water escape holes in some sections of the cement near the walls so it can drain away. An A grade job... but pricey. We were a bit pressed for time with the neighbours fence going up that we didn't chase many quotes. Also depends on access, if they can access it easily they can just bring the cement in, else you have to pay for a pump which is another 600$ or so. - As for pebbles/rocks. I just ordered from an online shop which delivered. Pricing here for comparisons https://nuway.com.au/buy-pebbles-gravels-online Google around, there will be a few places around your local area. I am no expert, but another option might just be paving sand or soil to go under the artificial grass. Less hard/bumpy, and can shape it very easily? Not sure if moisture would be an issue. No way you'd get $70/m2 if you're doing like 10m2, but if it's like 200m2 then sure that price might be achievable. Personally I'd go a minimum 1m wide all around the house. Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 354May 06, 2020 6:38 pm Thanks for the input guys. Btw, the drama never ends. Kitchen island has finally been fixed, now they want to charge me probably $2k to fix my chandeliers. They originally installed it as per display house and correctly. After the thieves broke in and stole the lights, they've now installed the new lights very low. So when you're looking from the front of the house you would see two cables instead of chandeliers. How is that even acceptable? Now they are saying they would need to call the electrician down and rent the scaffolding and charge me a variation fee for wanting to shortened the chandelier length. Plus they look so far apart now. They should have been replaced EXACTLY as they were done originally. I understand that they need the scaff and sparky again, but you're not going to sign off on those! Was it the same sparky that did the first lot?? https://thomasarcherbuild.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html - Thomas Archer Homes - Custom Nouveau 41 Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 356May 14, 2020 11:15 pm Not sure if it's the same sparky. But hopefully they'll fix it cause I'm settling this Tuesday! Woohoo! Finally! Can't wait to move in! Will have some pix up by Wednesday, internet permitting. lol Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 357May 15, 2020 8:33 am Freak_Zombie I love your attitude! Good luck next week. Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 358May 25, 2020 7:14 pm Finally settled and slowly moving in. So much to do! Here's a sneak preview! Unfortunately my carpet is a tiny bit small.
