Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 21Jan 15, 2019 12:12 pm Conventional, simple switching will be economic and reliable and will, likely, continue to serve the home well for the next 40 years. Wi-fi, blue lights, AI, internet linked switching and all that, will just be replaceable crap at high expense in a 10-year span. There's consumerism and there's sensible decision making with building. But what do I know! Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 22Jan 15, 2019 12:57 pm Loving your upgrades, and plans for the theatre room! Looking forward to following your build Thank you! I really hope it all works out too! dulie Freak_Zombie Hey guys, was thinking of keeping my light switches basic and using the cash savings for other upgrades. I'm guessing it won't be costly to upgrade the switches in the future? Also is anyone familiar with the basic range of metricon light switches? Apparently there's two options? Does anyone have pix? That would be much appreciated! Yes don't bother upgrading with Metricon the light switches. We did which cost a fortune just for me to later on remove them and, upgraded them again myself to wifi connected ones so I could turn on and off the lights with Google home. Did all the switches myself, very easy. So if you wanted to do it later, it's very easy. The only thing I had issues with the wifi enabled switches is 2 or 3 way switches. I ended up getting rid of any 2/3 way switches, replaced with a single, cause i could control lights with my voice anyways. But if you don't plan to use wifi, then no problems. Hmmm thanks for your input! It really helped! Glad I can save some money! Apparently it’s not hard to install. We got told by the ones who supply it. You never know. A few YouTube videos and your set too go [/quote] Haha thanks for the vote of confidence but I'm paranoid as hell. Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 25Jan 25, 2019 9:28 am Hey guys, would love your input, I was thinking of installing either of these lights, which do you think would age better? Love the biometric door looks although the one I have now seems to have issues with older family members fingerprints. The three sided fireplace looks great. Have you made provision for it with a false wall to have it installed there? Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 31Jan 29, 2019 9:11 am Doulton777 Freak_Zombie Hmmm thanks guys! I was going to install the fireplace with a false wall post. Is there anything I need to do before besides having the electrical point there? Did you have to add a hot and cold tap point as the toilets nowadays are mostly grey water. thanks Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 38Feb 03, 2019 7:58 am stanus Freak_Zombie Thanks! Oh mine is the living fire electric fireplace series so there's no need for gas. Will be doing the false wall post. Had a look at a few electric fireplaces and while the living fire series is the most expensive, it looks the most realistic. Will be well worth the extra cost in my opinion. These are the 3 I'm looking at buying. Not familiar with the other two brands so I'm leaning towards the xiaomi even though it doesn't look that great.
