If I remember correctly I paid about $28 500 to upgrade my tiles? I was already provided floor to ceiling package but for category 1. The $28 500 also includes the outdoor tiles which was not part of the package. It's already severely stained from when the metricon tradies wore their boots while working on the house Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 456Aug 14, 2020 8:33 pm Freak_Zombie Renman Freak_Zombie [quote="Renman"]Freak Can I ask how much was the tiles flooring for the house ? Do you need to cut a hole in the plaster board to recess the fireplace though? Also , seems there is no doors to your home theater ? are you plan to use thick curtain instead for sound-proof ? Thx Thank you! There wasn't a need to cut anything to recess the fireplace. It sits in front of the wall. Yup there's no doors because I wanted that space to feel as open as possible instead of one long narrow corridor. And even with double doors the opening wouldn't be as wide. So I'm installing two layers of block out curtains. Was pretty expensive but would be worth it I hope. It'll be motorised just like the blinds. Plus the curtains would help to absorb the sound reflections. you inspire me to covert my 4.2m*4.6m sitting room to a multi-function room , so I can use it as a HT time to time I also want to leave the opening as wide as possible , my current plan is to install 2*1020 cavity sliding door , but the opening will be approx 2m only Curtain will be a good idea - I just not sure their sound-proof effect vs solidcore sliding door, will do some research on that Thanks for sharing Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 458Aug 17, 2020 11:33 am Freak_Zombie Here's some pix of the home theatre room. Sorry for the blurry pix, was just using my phone and it looks better in person. Still a work in progress. Already installed the blinds which are automated, installed double glazing to the window behind it. Installed the projector and cut out a hole in the wall. The projector sits in the walk in robe of my master bedroom. Did so, giving it a more cinema feel as well as hiding the projector. (Plus mainly because I needed that length to project a screen that's 155 inch wide. (cinemascope) The lights are whatever I can control have been setup with my google mini. I have a 7.2.4 speaker setup. Just waiting on my small custom home theatre sign and the motorised curtains and then I'm done for that part. Also attached a picture of my office inside my study room. Well done. Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 459Aug 18, 2020 10:11 am haha do itttt! That's a big space! Definitely more than big enough for an awesome home theatre room. Yeah the original idea was a double cavity sliding door however 2 meters still feels too small for me. Currently my opening is 3.1m and I still wish it was wider. I found all my cavity sliding doors to rattle quite a bit, I wonder if that's still a good idea if you had a powerful sub. Currently I have two layers of block out and sound insulation curtains. (Gotta have that since I didn't want either the entrance or the inside of the room to view the back of the curtains. ) Will let you know in a month's time (or after restrictions are over) if they effective at all.
