Did a bit of research but was unable to find much. I'm building a house and would like to know how much Stormwater connection from the house to the street should cost. My house is 5-6m from the curb and is about 21m long. Any info appreciated.

Is your question about the entire stormwater retention system, or just about the connection from the end-point of that system to the street?
Because just the connection to the street is going to be close to nothing in terms of overall build costs, but the entire retention system can be from a few hundred up to tens of thousands for a normal-sized block; depends on slope of the block, council rules, most-likely other stuff I don't know about. To give an example, a mate in the same council as me had a KDR done on his block which is perfectly flat except for being fairly steep at the road; he had to spend around $30k just for his stormwater system. Our block has the same amount of slope front-to-rear but it's gradual, and ours was included in our "fixed site costs" of ~$40k total, so ours can't have cost anywhere near what his did (plus our rainwater tank is underground & doubles as a stormwater retention tank - I'm told that design saved us a 5-digit amount of cash).

Just from the downpipes to the street. Thanks for the reply. It's one topic I haven't been able to find much out on. I presume it's digging a ditch, laying a pipe, then connecting the pipe to the downpipe and street. Any idea what that should cost?

Short answer is: I can't answer your question.
Long version, though; you say downpipes, do you mean the downpipes from the gutters?
If so, are you totally sure you don't need an entire stormwater retention system? Ignore me if you're sure; but if you're not sure, then I could describe my mate's ~$30k of "stormwater retention system" as being the (complicated) connection from the downpipes to the street.

Ha. Appreciate the response Forg. Nah just a simple connection involving a trench and a pipe. Builder has quoted a relatively small sum to have it done before handover. I presume it can be done cheaper, but trying to work out whether it's worth the hassle or not
