Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 17, 2018 4:16 pm Hi all, I opted for a light coloured tiles for my kitchen splash back. The lady in our colour appointment told us to opt for a light coloured grout. After the installation of tiles the wall looks totally different from what I imagined it would be . After going through lot of back and forth communication with Fair haven, I came to know light coloured grout is making the wall look a bit pale and totally different. As I am building first time I had limited knowledge about tiles and trusted the FH lady employee who assisted our colour selection. I have asked them to re do the wall tiles and put some darker shades of grout in between tiles. But I have got no answer from them yet. Can anyone assist how can I get this escalated? Re: Fair Haven Homes building experience - Wall tiles 3Dec 18, 2018 12:36 pm Just get a grout dye, lots of colours to choose from, unfortunately as you went ahead with advice on a colour, it's considered a change of mind as what was delivered was accurate to your agreed choice, I would move on and with this experience and only agree when your totally sure you know what your getting, good luck. Re: Fair Haven Homes building experience - Wall tiles 4Dec 18, 2018 1:08 pm And it will all look so different with the toaster on the bench top, pots on the stove, Mum bustling around, dog asleep on the floor....honestly, you won't even be able to say what the colour scheme is once you've been in a few weeks! Re: Fair Haven Homes building experience - Wall tiles 5Dec 18, 2018 4:01 pm Yeah , I think moving on is the only option. May be all would be looking good once the house is finished!! Re: Fair Haven Homes building experience - Wall tiles 6Dec 18, 2018 6:09 pm I agree with what others have said, unfortunately you just have to learn and move on. I know I wish I had changed a few selections but it is very hard to see how it will all pan out from small samples. I think your splashback looks lovely. Wait til you can see it all together, you may feel differently. By the way, what laminate did you pick? The floor looks lovely.
