Blast I didn't even think to drive up for a sight see!!! Well today is moving day and the rain pouring down in Hobart, hope the removalist can get up the drive way. Hope everything is going okay. Carolyn Carolyn Re: Finally, one step closer...Lock up and handover! 148Oct 15, 2010 6:46 pm Congratualtions 'chelle. I was wondering why there was little info from you and now it all makes sense. I though you were having big problems and were tied up, but it's good to hear that was not the situation. So settle in, relax, and when you're fully unwound, please show us some pictures of what I've rated the best house on the forum. Re: Finally, one step closer...I'm back...with piccies 151Feb 05, 2011 9:47 pm God, it's been ages since I've been here but after a pm from Casa, I thought I'd better get off my lasy but and actually post some pictures of the finished product! Well almost finished...still have lots of decorating to do, but haven't got around to it yet So first up we have some photos of the outside of the house. Given the slope that we are on, it is quite hard to get a good shot of the house...DH even resorted to climbing trees!! http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PB050093.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PB050092.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PB020071.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PB020072.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PB020084.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PB050091.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PA220014.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PA020086.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PB050090.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PB020056.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PB020057.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PA220012.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/chelleW1970/PA220013.jpg Inside shots...as I said we still have quite a bit of decorating to do and furniture to buy. We're still waiting on some things to be finished by the builder and so haven't got the final invoice and so we are waiting until we get that before we commit to buying a whole houseful of furniture (not sure what the budget will be) We're also waiting on one internal door to the lounge room (yes the window suppliers are still holding things up). And because we have a cat that is likely to destroy any new lounge suite that we buy, we won't be buying anything until we can lock her out of the lounge room...so no pictures of the lounge room sorry! We are just loving living here...it really is magical...the views, the wildlife (wallabies just off the deck every night)...everything about it is wonderful. Thermally the house is performing well...not that we've had too many warm days this summer to really make it work hard, but on the odd occasion when it has been warm the ceiling fans are enough to make the house comfortable. We haven't had to give the wood heater much of a work out either since we've been here...although the first week was quite cold...(We woke to it snowing the first morning we were here...I'll never forget it.) but we're getting quite a good sized wood pile from all the clearing we've been doing, so we're hoping to be toasty warm during the winter. So now that the kids are back at school and my work has quietened down (I was working 6-7 days a week from October right up to Christmas...and it's taken me all of January just to recover), I'm hoping to be able to finish the unpacking and finish decorating, although I'm finding it very hard to decide just what to put where so I won't be rushing into anything. We've also started landscaping...DH has been moving soil and gumbark all week. I can't wait to actually get some plants in so the yard stops looking like a dust bowl! So there will be more piccies to come eventually...
