Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 15, 2018 10:12 am Hello, Just wanted to see what other people have done. We are building with a project builder and once our "colours" were signed off we were told any changes would incur a $1000 variation fee. We are at the tiling stage of the bathrooms and have noticed that the mirror size on the contract above the vanity will not fit due to the window. So it's supposed to be 900mm wide to match the vanity but will only be 700mm wide, this will look odd but can't see any solution at this stage, as far as I am concerned this is a variation from the builder and we deserve some sort of compensation. Has anyone received compensation from a contract that is not owners fault but builders fault in the design but cannot be rectified. Hope this makes sense.
