What are they unhappy about? Re: Custom build on acerage in Ipswich QLD 45Apr 09, 2019 5:17 pm I guess they shouldn't have built so close to their boundary if they wanted to stay away from neighbours... no reason you have to, just to appease them! I say good on you - you've picked the plan and orientation to get the most out of your block. Btw, great progress and looking forward to seeing the slab and frame! Re: Custom build on acerage in Ipswich QLD 46Apr 09, 2019 5:40 pm Agree with KT, place your house on the block where it works for you, particularly when site costs, retaining walls, your views etc all need to be taken into consideration. Looks great! Re: Custom build on acerage in Ipswich QLD 47Apr 09, 2019 5:48 pm How exciting! That's the bonus about building around existing homes - you can position your home to suit what's already there! I think it's terrible they've even mentioned it to you. Are they pouring tomorrow? 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Custom build on acerage in Ipswich QLD 48Apr 09, 2019 6:22 pm Yes pouring tomorrow - so exciting! I'm actually not opposed to them disliking the position but the matter in which they verbalized it really was frustrating. We went to ask if we could run a hose as we are wwaiting for the water meter still and he had a go at me I should have told them 'just wait until the second storey goes up...' Are they starting tomorrow? 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Custom build on acerage in Ipswich QLD 56Apr 15, 2019 4:33 pm Neighbours have been at it again, now a whs complaint as a tradie did a wee in the paddock... the toilet people haven't been yet but are scheduled for Wed- builder facing a $3600 fine. Frames will be stood tomorrow and trusses will arrive. I cant wait for the house to be wrapped to obscure the neighbours view of the trades. Re: Custom build on acerage in Ipswich QLD 57Apr 15, 2019 9:38 pm Oh no. Surely the first point of contact would be to the builder rather than putting in a complaint. Hopefully you don't have too many more dramas with them. Exciting about the frames though! 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Hi, I am looking to build a home (30m by 20m) on an acerage block. I would like to know the estimated costs I should be looking at and whether or not its best to go with… 0 423 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34270 6 55349 |
