Hi all,
My build is almost at lockup stage, and I went to have a look at progress today. Upon arriving, immediately noticed much more water around then normal, opened the back door to see the whole place under a few cms of water and heard the sound of running water
Turns out one of the bathroom fittings had been stolen, and water was just left spurting out of the hole over the bathroom cabinets and subsequently into pretty much every room in the house.
Obviously the builder will get to work getting it dried out, but should I be insisting that certain things are replaced ? Most of the skirting boards are wet, some of the plasterboard, the exposed insulation in the bathroom (where the bathtub will sit) was getting water sprayed on it, the bottom of some installed cabinets are also under water. As water was also running outside, the ground in some places around the slab is soaked in some places, making me a little concerned about structural integrity.
Also something I found interesting...the front meter was in the off position, I had to turn off the recycled water meter to make the water stop. I would think recycled water shouldn’t be flowing into the bathroom (shower outlet) should it ?
